Item Information This listing is for a Heavy Duty Deep Transmission Pan with 1.5 quarts Extra Capacity for 4L80E, 4L85E Transmissions in cars 1996 and older and 1993-1996 H1 Hummers with 17 bolt pan. Please note: Jaguar XJS models with the 4L80 transmission have a stock pan specific to the Jaguar and this pan will not fit. We do not offer a pan that is compatible with the XJS at this time. This pan is designed to provide extra fluid capacity and increased cooling. This has been installed on custom hot rods and street-rods so it will fit custom car applications as well, you just need to check for clearance. The drain hole and magnetic drain plug allow for easy transmission servicing to keep your vehicle running smoothly. A magnetic drain plug and all new mounting bolts are included with the pan. This pan has been designed for: + Cooling – extra capacity(1.5 quarts above stock), fins, and aluminum construction for reported temperature drops of 10 to 35 degrees + Clearance – medium height maintains clearance + Drain Plug – on the side for safety + Secure Seal – machined flat gasket flange for a leak free seal + Strength – high quality cast aluminum, thick walls to add strength to the transmission housing + Fins on bottom of pan for additional clearance + Designed to work with the stock filter and gasket, the pan has cast-in filter supports so no filter extension is needed. Configurations vary so always check your vehicle. Verify which transmission you have and look for ground clearance and interference from frame cross members or exhaust components. Pan dimensions can be found below in our Technical Information section. This pan can be used on 1997 and newer vehicles if there is enough clearance between frame cross member and stock pan. Most 1997 and newer vehicles do not have enough clearance and need the late model pan which can be found in our store, just search part# 9437. 9437 provides clearance for the exhaust but will not clear the transmission internals on the early models. This pan can fit on 1993 to 1996 H1 Hummers, but the frame cross member is very close and you will need to check the drain plug location. This pan has one location cast into the pan that can be machined for use with aftermarket sensors and gauges, it can accommodate from 1/8 NPT to 1/2 NPT. Shift Cable Bracket You may have to modify your shift cable mounting bracket to use this pan if the transmission pan mounting bolts hold the shift cable bracket on. In the above photo you can see the drain hole, located on the driver’s side. On the passenger side there is a boss that can be machined for an aftermarket temperature gauge or sensor.
