Cure the dreaded “pump rub” with PPE’s Transfer Case Pump Upgrade Kit. Pump rub occurs when the four positioning tabs holding the pump in place wear over time. This causes the oil pump to come into contact with the housing itself. The result is a hole worn in the cover, causing fluid to leak and the probability of damaging the transfer case. This simple kit eliminates this problem. PPE’s kit contains a gasket, thread locker, and a machined aluminum pump cover. The main benefit of using this kit is a more secure method of supporting the pump and better distributing the load, to eliminate the dreaded “pump rub”. Cast from high-strength aluminum for optimal heat dissipation, this new PPE pan features internal baffles and external fins which transfer heat to keep your transmission running cool, keeping your operating temperatures in the right range. Also included is a PPE Drain Plug machined from stainless steel, featuring a 17mm hex fitting for easy installation and removal. The PPE Drain Plug is fitted with a high-powered Neodymium magnet which extracts harmful ferrous metals out of your fluid before they can do damage, and is easy to wipe clean during fluid changes. This cast aluminum, high-capacity transmission pan is engineered to be a direct bolt-on replacement to the factory stamped steel pan. With a 5” depth that can hold 15 quarts of fluid, this transmission pan holds 8 more quarts than the stock pan. The deep external fins radiate heat to keep fluid temps down and internal heat sinks channel oil and prevent sloshing. Thick side gussets add rigidity for additional transmission case strength. The PPE Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminum 10R140 Deep Transmission Pan includes a 1” billet 304 stainless steel drain plug with neodymium magnet. The magnet equipped drain plug will pull ferrous metal out of the transmission fluid before they can do damage. This pan comes with an 1/8″ NPT plug that can be removed so you want to run a temperature sensor and zinc coated socket head hardware. Compatible with stock style transmission filters, this pan allows you to reuse the high-quality factory gasket. Mainline pressure is created by the transmission’s oil pump. Mainline pressure is directed by the valve body to the apply pistons and creates clamping force on the clutch packs, allowing the clutch packs to clamp quickly and completely. Reduced mainline pressure, or not having enough mainline pressure at the right time means reduced clamping force and there won’t be enough to hold the torque of the engine. When clutch packs slip they generate excessive heat which destroys the clutch pack material. The stock EPC functions to modulate line pressure. During a shift, the transmission control module commands the EPC to vary mainline pressure. The pressure will rise from 80psi up to 230psi. After the shift, the pressure drops back down to 80psi. At 80psi the clutch packs don’t hold the torque of the engine. Towing heavy loads or adding aftermarket upgrades adds even more stress on the clutch packs. The EPC blocker kit quickly installs between the EPC solenoid and the valve body. There is no need to remove the valve body. Just drain the transmission fluid and remove the oil pan and install the EPC blocker. Once installed, the EPC blocker will allow all the available mainline pressure, up to 230psi, to reach the apply pistons and clutch packs at all times.
